Top 4 Tips for Mailing and Stamping Your Invitation Envelopes
If you’re about to mail your event invitations, follow my top 4 tips to ensure your invitations do not return and guests easily returns their RSVP!
#1: Weigh your full invitation suite before stamping: Have the post office weigh one envelope with your full invitation suite inside so that you will know how much postage stamps each envelope will need. This reduces the amount of returns!
#2: Hand cancel your wedding invitation suite: Have the post office clerk hand cancel each envelope instead of running the envelopes through the cancel machine. This ensures each envelope has enough postage and reduces envelope bending and returns. If no one is available to hand cancel at the post office, that's ok as long as enough postage is on each envelope!
#3: Don't forget to add a stamp to your RSVP envelope: Adding a stamp to the RSVP envelope makes it quick and easy for guests to pop their RSVP card into the mail!
#4: Glue vintage postage onto the envelopes: Over time the gum on vintage postage stamps dissolve and no longer stick, therefore it is best to use a glue stick and glue on the stamps!
